Christine Kostyrka holds a BFA from School of Visual Arts in NYC, where she studied Painting, Art Therapy and Art Education. Her love of design and handcraft ultimately led to a different path, opening a Home & Lifestyle store at age 22. She spent the next 30+ years leading buying and product development for brands such as Martha Stewart, Crate & Barrel and Urban Outfitters. As the Retail Director at The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Christine was hired in 2019 to re-imagine the Retail experience during a time of great change. She led the initiative to concept and open 3 brand new stores as part of the Frank Gehry expansion, launched an upgraded commerce website for the museum, and led all marketing efforts, while bringing in the work of over 100 local artisans into museum stores. Her efforts specifically focused on highlighting the diversity of Philadelphia's creative community and supporting collaborations with local non profits such as Center for Creative Works and Fresh Artists. She also launched the first licensing program for the museum which was a finalist as Licensing International's expo. Christine has been an Adjunct Professor at Drexel University since 2021, teaching Merchandising, Design, Product Development and Marketing among other disciplines. A native New Yorker, she has lived in Cherry Hill with her daughter since 2005.
