A donation of just $10 a month will provide inclusive community programming and an alternative way to communicate where traditional therapies may have failed. Your generous contribution will help make the world a better place for people of ALL abilities.
Give Someone A Voice
Say It With Clay is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people with diverse special needs benefit from the therapeutic power of clay. Utilizing a hands-on therapeutic approach, we use clay to offer clients effective alternative channels for communication. This relaxing process creates pride, success and motivation for healing.
Sarah’s Story
When we received a call from one of our local school counselors, of course we were thrilled to help. Sarah is living with Selective Mutism, an anxiety disorder commonly found after trauma in which a person who is normally capable of speech cannot speak in specific situations or to specific people. Sarah’s father explained to us that they visited multiple therapists but she always sat in silence. Knowing his daughters love for art, he was eager for Sarah to begin our after-school program. Led by art therapists, our inclusion based after-school program helps children communicate through clay. On the very first day, Sarah immediately engaged with the clay and she continues to excel in the program. It provides Sarah with an expressive outlet and gives others a view into her personality and world. The studio gives her a safe, comfortable space to relax and create her own language without being judged. Sarah’s family is overjoyed with her progress and hopeful for the future.
