Liv has been involved in therapeutic arts since discovering creativity in high school. Inspired to help others find healing through art, Liv studied Art Therapy at Temple University for their Bachelor of Arts and concentrated on Community Arts Practices. Within Philadelphia’s diverse arts and culture scene, Liv became immersed in various communities using arts as activism, first with locally raised public housing communities, then on to organizing citywide art builds for worldwide conflicts presently. After college, Liv worked in an inpatient psychiatric hospital for several years, working primarily with patients struggling with substance abuse for the first year, then opening an LGBT+ unit. Liv hopes to continue their work within the community for culturally competent care.
Liv is now studying for their master’s in art therapy and counseling with Southwestern College, Sante Fe, a consciousness-based art therapy graduate program, closely aligning with their holistic intentions within the field. Liv has since found their therapeutic interventions most aligned with Person-Centered, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. Liv’s passion for community arts led them to Say It With Clay, where they’re honored to offer their unique healing skills through arts.
